Albuquerque-based Game set for 12 p.m. MT / 2 p.m. ET start
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The New Mexico Bowl will once again be at the forefront of college football’s bowl schedule. The New Mexico Bowl is set to play its 14th edition on Saturday, Dec. 21, at 12 p.m. MT/ 2 p.m. ET. The game will be played in Dreamstyle Stadium at the University of New Mexico and will air on ESPN and ESPN Radio.
“We are very happy and fortunate to be able to announce that once again, we will kick off on the first Saturday afternoon of Bowl season, a position on the calendar we have occupied for 14 straight years,” said Jeff Siembieda, New Mexico Bowl executive director. “This has become a wonderful tradition in our community and we look forward to another great game, hosting the teams and their fans, while showing off the beauty of Albuquerque and New Mexico to whole nation.”
The New Mexico Bowl has ignited the collegiate bowl postseason on a regular basis over the past decade, playing on the first day since 2008. This marks the first year the game is not on opening day, which is slated for Friday, Dec. 20.
The 2019 New Mexico Bowl is scheduled to feature teams from the Mountain West Conference and Conference USA. The leagues have been pitted against each other in each of the last three games, as well as the 2014 and 2010 New Mexico Bowls. The Mountain West has won four of those five matchups.
Tickets for the New Mexico Bowl range from $25-$40 and are available at the UNM ticket office and at dreamhousenewmexicobowl.com.
